Editorial Policy
This page explains what we cover, where the information we publish comes from, how we choose products and how we keep articles up to date. If anything you read falls short of these standards, we want to hear about it.
What we cover
Motorcycle gear: helmets, jackets, trousers, gloves, boots, airbags, armour and intercoms, along with accessories such as tyres or security locks and the regulations that apply to them. We don't follow motorcycle or racing news, except where it touches on gear, as at shows like EICMA.
How we choose products
- Current-catalogue models sold in Europe with a published official price. If a model is discontinued or replaced, we say so.
- We prioritise what riders look for most and each season's new releases, and for each brand we try to cover the full range, from entry level to flagship.
- No brand decides which products we cover.
Sources
- Manufacturer: official website, spec sheets, manuals and press releases.
- Homologation: the standard each product meets (ECE 22.06, EN 17092, EN 13634, EN 13594, FIM...) according to official documentation.
- Price: product reference, country, currency and date checked. We distinguish RRP from offers; price and availability can change.
- Third parties: specialist press tests or owner feedback, only when they add something and always credited as such.
- Images: product or press photographs, licensed resources, and editorial compositions or illustrations. Credits identify documented provenance; a composition illustrates a topic and does not establish physical testing. Check the exact product reference in its photographs and documentation.
Reviews and scores
Our reviews are editorial assessments, not physical tests: we don't present mileage, noise measurements or riding impressions as our own. Where a score is included, it summarises our documentary assessment against alternatives by use and price; it does not measure protection or comfort in our own test. We explain the criteria and what each range means in How we score.
Types of content
- Reviews: analysis of a specific model with advantages, limitations and a verdict; some include an editorial score and others do not.
- Comparisons and guides: what to choose by use and budget, with the criteria in plain sight.
- News: launches and new collections with the official data available. When something isn't confirmed by the brand, we say so.
- Regulations and safety: legal and homologation changes explained from the official text.
Independence and advertising
Advertising is a planned source of funding and is not active yet. If introduced through networks such as Google, ads will be separate from editorial content and advertisers will not decide scores, comparisons or recommendations. We don't use affiliate links.
Brands don't pay to be featured or review articles before publication. If a brand ever lends us a product, sponsors content or works with us, we'll disclose it clearly in the article itself.
Updates and corrections
- We revisit articles when prices, ranges or regulations change. Each article shows its publication date and, if it has been revised, its last-updated date.
- If we spot a mistake, or you point one out, we fix it. When a correction changes a conclusion or recommendation, we note it in the article.
