Frequently Asked Questions about Dainese

How much does Dainese gear cost?

It depends a lot on the piece: entry-level gloves start around €60-80, the Air Frame 3 jacket around €300-350, the Tempest 3 D-Dry has a retailer-listed RRP of €299.95 with offers around €210 depending on size and colour (checked 6 October 2026), the Nexus 3 boots around €350-400, and the Misano 3 D-air airbag suit can top €2,000. It is a premium brand across every category.

What size Dainese gear should I choose?

Dainese runs a snug "second skin" fit, especially on its racing gear — many riders size up compared to other brands. Always check the specific size chart for each garment (it varies between street jackets and track suits) before buying.

What is Dainese's D-air system?

D-air is Dainese's airbag system, built into its higher-end suits and jackets. It uses sensors to detect a crash and inflates the airbag in milliseconds, before impact. The Misano 3 D-air uses the Racing Shield 3X version, aimed at track use.

Alpinestars or Dainese: which should I choose?

They are the two big Italian premium brands and there is no single answer. Alpinestars has a racier fit and its Tech-Air is a standalone airbag; Dainese bets on second-skin ergonomics and D-air built into the garment. For track and sport riding, Alpinestars; for a premium snug fit, Dainese. See the full comparison on the Alpinestars page.

What is new from Dainese in 2026?

In 2026 Dainese keeps the Misano 3 D-air, Tempest 3 D-Dry, Air Frame 3 and Nexus 3 as range references. Dainese is not on the official EICMA 2026 exhibitor list (Milan, November), so we do not expect launches from it at the show.
