The AGV K6 S is AGV's carbon and aramid full-face and its best balance between sport riding and touring: ECE 22.06, 1,250 g and from €449.95 (up to €560 with graphics). It is the sensible choice if you want carbon comfort without paying for a flagship; it is neither the quietest nor the most racing. Score: 9/10.

A carbon-aramid shell that keeps the weight down

Despite its price, the K6 S does not use full carbon fibre. Its shell is a carbon-aramid fibre composite, which is precisely what allows it to absorb impacts efficiently while staying light. AGV declares around 1,250 g for the smaller shell size, and it is manufactured in 4 shell sizes with a 5-density EPS liner. In practice this means two things: the helmet always looks compact and proportional to your head, and the weight distribution is so neutral that you forget you are wearing it after half an hour.

Ventilation and visor: the strong point

The Ultravision visor is optical class 1 (the best possible for a visor) and comes with anti-scratch treatment and a Pinlock 120 Max Vision anti-fog lens included, which on many rivals you have to buy separately. Ventilation is handled by 5 front intakes and 2 rear extractors that generate real airflow — enough to ride in summer without opening the visor at every red light.

Interior designed for long routes

The interior uses a breathable, moisture-wicking Dryspeed fabric that absorbs sweat quickly. It is fully removable and washable, and it is prepared to fit an intercom without forcing the padding. It is here, in the details, where the K6 S shows its touring DNA: no pressure points after several hours, effective chin curtain and a firm but non-aggressive fit.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Weight: around 1,250 g for a helmet that costs half of what a full-carbon one does.
  • Visor kit: Ultravision class 1 + Pinlock 120 Max Vision included in the box.
  • Comfort: 4 shell sizes and neutral balance make it ideal for daily riding and travel.

Cons

  • Noise: at motorway speed it is more noticeable than in top-of-the-range Shoei, a common compromise in this segment.
  • Price of accessories: original spare visors (photochromic or smoked) are not cheap.

Verdict

The AGV K6 S is the sensible choice when you want carbon comfort without paying for a full-carbon flagship. It is not the quietest nor the most racing helmet, but it is the one that does almost everything well for around €450 in solid colours (up to €560 with graphics).
