Shoei Helmets 2026: What's New and the Best by Use and Price

Published onAugust 17, 2026
Updated onOctober 2, 2026

Shoei (Japón, 1959) is the premium Japanese benchmark, the brand that dominates the sport and touring segment with the best fit and finish on the market. Its 2026 range is not huge, but it is surgical: four models that cover everything from daily road use to the track, all with ECE 22.06. We have analysed the four that are genuinely worth it.

Key facts

  • Best overall: Shoei NXR2, from €479.
  • Best for touring: Shoei GT-Air 3, from €599.
  • Best modular: Shoei Neotec 3, from €669.
  • Best for the track: Shoei X-SPR Pro, around €799.
  • All four are ECE 22.06. The GT-Air 3 Smart (with HUD) has no official date or price yet: see the news section below.

1. Shoei NXR2 — the best sport for the road

  • Type: sport full-face.
  • Price: €479-599 (Shoei Spain).
  • Certification: ECE 22.06.
  • Key: the benchmark of the segment, ~1,390 g, CWR-F2 visor with the largest Pinlock Evo.

Our opinion: it is the safest bet of the brand and of the whole sport segment. Quiet for a sport lid, stable at motorway speed and with the most refined fit on the market. It is the "ten for everything" helmet: sporty enough for track days and comfortable enough to travel. Our full in-depth analysis is here.

2. Shoei GT-Air 3 — the best for touring

  • Type: sport-touring full-face.
  • Price: €599-629 (solid), up to €759 (MM93).
  • Certification: ECE 22.06.
  • Key: QSV-2 sun visor that drops 5 mm lower, Pinlock Evo, SRL 3 integrated intercom.

Our opinion: the reference tourer. Around 98 dB it sits in the quiet band of our scale, and the sun visor plus the clean SRL 3 intercom make it the pick for long routes. It is not the lightest (about 1,680 g), but stability and comfort compensate for it. We review it in depth here.

3. Shoei Neotec 3 — the best modular

  • Type: flip-up modular.
  • Price: from €669 (white or black), €699 (matt), €769 (graphics), according to shoei.es.
  • Certification: ECE 22.06 with P/J.
  • Key: legal open or closed, sun visor, SRL 3 integrated intercom.

Our opinion: the premium modular of reference. Its P/J homologation lets you ride with the chin bar up or down with total legality, and the SRL 3 (Harman Kardon, Mesh) is the cleanest integrated intercom on the market. It weighs about 1,732 g and, with the intercom, easily passes €900 — but it is hard to beat. Full review here.

4. Shoei X-SPR Pro — the best for the track

  • Type: racing full-face.
  • Price: ~€799.
  • Certification: ECE 22.06 + FIM.
  • Key: AIM+ shell, 1,442 g, seven intakes and six extractors, 3% less drag than the X-Spirit III.

Our opinion: the helmet Shoei puts on the MotoGP grid. Wind-tunnel tested with an integrated spoiler and vortex generators, it is a serious track tool. At around 99 dB it is average for the road, but it is not built for silence and only really pays off if you do track days. For daily use the NXR2 or the GT-Air 3 make more sense. Full review here.

News: GT-Air 3 Smart, the first helmet with a built-in HUD

Shoei has just announced the GT-Air 3 Smart, the world's first motorcycle helmet with an integrated HUD (developed with EyeLights), projecting navigation, speed and calls at 3 metres. On Shoei Europe's official website it is listed as "coming soon", with no date or price published. Specialist press quotes around €1,199 for Europe, with the helmet and the EyeLights HUD module sold separately. Follow the coverage in our EICMA 2026 article.

MGE verdict

If you can only buy one and you use it daily, go for the NXR2: it is the most balanced and the cheapest way into the brand. If you live on long routes, the GT-Air 3 is the reference; if you want a modular, the Neotec 3 has no rival in its segment. The X-SPR Pro, being spectacular, is a tool you only pay off on the circuit.
