The Shark Skwal i3 combines an ECE 22.06 full-face with LED brake lights and a micrometric buckle on the consulted European Blank SP reference. It suits someone wanting that additional signalling with the right fit, particularly when their size is discounted. Do not assume every i3 has the same price or shield package.
Documentary review updated on 18 October 2026: Shark specifications/manual and SHARP's record, without our own physical tests or measurements of noise, weight or visibility in traffic.
LEDs: three modes with braking functionality
The official manual describes three modes: smart brake lights, position plus brake lights and flashing position plus brake lights. An accelerometer detects deceleration, without a motorcycle connection. The stated observed maximum is 12 hours in flashing mode, with approximately three hours to charge. These are declared conditions, not a battery-life guarantee for every use.
The LEDs add signalling, but we have no data to quantify accident reduction. Check battery and operation, and retain normal motorcycle lighting.
Shield, weight and fastening: identify the reference
The Blank SP HE0810EWSA listing gives a Lexan shell, optical class 1 shield, included Pinlock 70, sun visor and 1,570 g for the first shell size. This is not our own weighed helmet or a figure representing all sizes. The interior is removable; range positioning alone cannot establish inferior comfort.
The listing and SHARP identify a micrometric buckle; the manual also covers other fastenings depending on version. Check the actual helmet. Sena for Shark compatibility does not include an intercom: confirm the unit, mounting and installation before budgeting.
Four SHARP stars
The Skwal i3 SHARP record shows four stars, tested in September 2026, with ECE 22.06 approval. This assesses the named model, not another Shark reference, and is not a comfort or sound-insulation score.
Checked price and availability
The official euro storefront shows a €239.99 sale price for the white/silver/anthracite Blank SP, previously €319.99. Only XL was listed available for that reference during our check. Other finishes and retailers have different prices and stock; this is not a universal discount or a UK pound price. Check destination, delivery and returns.
If your size is unavailable, the offer does not solve your purchase. Check fit, retention, fastening operation with gloves and space for glasses before comparing complete costs.
Against the Skwal iCup
The iCup also has LED braking functionality. Its design, double D fastening and equipment are worth comparing before spending more, but do not establish better quietness or protection. Read our Skwal iCup versus i3 comparison with dated references and prices.
Verdict and editorial score
7/10 as an everyday proposition: we value the signalling, sun visor and included anti-fog insert. Recommendation depends on fit, reference and the price in your size; the battery needs attention. This editorial score is separate from SHARP and does not establish a physical test or better safety because of LEDs.
