AGV Helmets 2026: the 6 Best by Use and Price

Published onJune 22, 2026
Updated onOctober 17, 2026

AGV is the Italian brand that dressed Valentino Rossi for two decades and, in 2026, it remains the benchmark in sport helmets. Its current range runs from €199 for the entry-level K1 S full-face to the track-only Pista GP RR, and every new model is ECE 22.06 certified. We have analysed the six that are genuinely worth it depending on what you are looking for.

Key facts

  • Best overall: AGV K6 S, from €449.
  • Best value for money: AGV K3, from €229.
  • Best for the track: AGV Pista GP RR, from €1,430 RRP.
  • Best for touring: AGV Tourmodular, from €549.
  • All six are ECE 22.06. Official prices from AGV Spain's website, checked on 1 October 2026; shops often sell below them.

1. AGV Pista GP RR — the king of the track

  • Type: racing full-face.
  • Price: official RRP of €1,430 to €1,815 depending on finish (AGV's website currently discounts it from €1,078).
  • Certification: ECE 22.06 + FIM.
  • Key: 100% carbon shell, extreme ventilation, racing fit.

Our opinion: it is the best sport helmet on the market, but it is not for everyday use. It is designed for the track, aggressive riding positions and high speed: at urban pace it loses most of its purpose. If you do track days, it is the definitive purchase; if you only ride on the road, there are better options below at a third of the price. Read our Pista GP RR review for the full breakdown.

2. AGV K6 S — the versatile lightweight (our pick)

  • Type: sport-touring full-face.
  • Price: €449-569 depending on finish.
  • Certification: ECE 22.06.
  • Key: carbon-aramid shell, very light, versatile.

Our opinion: it is the perfect balance. It inherits the Pista's aerodynamics but with road comfort and one of the best weights in its category. If you are only going to own one helmet for everything, this is ours. The Karve finish raises the price, but the base version already performs the same. Read our K6 S review for the full breakdown.

3. AGV K3 — the versatile one with a sun visor

  • Type: sport full-face with sun visor.
  • Price: €229-299.
  • Certification: ECE 22.06.
  • Key: integrated sun visor and 190° field of view.

Our opinion: the best value for money in AGV. The integrated sun visor makes it ideal for commuting with changing light, and the wide visor gives a sense of space that rivals at its price do not offer. It replaces the old K3 SV and improves on it in every way. If the K6 S is out of your budget, this is your helmet.

Buying second-hand? AGV is running a voluntary recall of the chin strap closure on specific K3 E2206 units made in 2022. Check the serial number on the official recall page.

4. AGV K1 S — the entry-level sport

  • Type: sport full-face.
  • Price: €199-279.
  • Certification: ECE 22.06.
  • Key: racing look, integrated spoiler, intercom-ready.

Our opinion: it is the entry point to AGV's racing look. It does not have the Pista's rigidity nor the K6 S's lightness, but from €199 you get a helmet with a racing appearance and a good level of safety. As a first helmet or for a second city bike, it more than delivers. Read our K1 S review for all the details.

5. AGV Tourmodular — the touring modular

  • Type: flip-up modular.
  • Price: €549-619.
  • Certification: ECE 22.06 (P/J).
  • Key: carbon shell, flip-up chin bar, compatible with integrated Cardo DMC.

Our opinion: the lightest modular in the brand, designed for long-distance touring. The chin bar with P/J certification lets you ride safely with it open. If you do long routes and want comfort when stopping to refuel or talk, it is the option; if you want maximum sport performance, stick with a full-face.

Buying second-hand? AGV has two voluntary recalls of the chin strap mechanism on specific Tourmodular E2206 units (one from 2022 and another from 2025). Check the serial number on the label.

6. AGV AX9 — the adventure for trail

  • Type: adventure/trail.
  • Price: €679 for Mono Matt Carbon E2206 on AGV Spain, checked on 17 October 2026.
  • Certification: ECE 22.06.
  • Key: dual visor + screen configuration, glasses-compatible.

Our opinion: we would consider it for mixed use if you need the removable peak and visor. It is not a P/J flip-front. For road-only use, compare the features you need before paying for an adventure configuration. Check the
