The best Shark helmets 2026: a guide by use and price

Published onJuly 23, 2026
Updated onOctober 18, 2026

Shark (Marseille, 1986) is one of the most established European brands, with a MotoGP presence and a range that runs from the entry-level full-face to the FIM-certified racing helmet. In 2026 its line-up has been renewed — the sport-touring range evolved into the Spartan GT Pro, and the Evo-One 2 modular has been replaced by the OXO. We have analysed the six that are genuinely worth it.

Key facts

  • Best overall: Shark Spartan GT Pro if you require ECE 22.06; check the exact reference and price.
  • Best value for money: Shark D-Skwal 3, around €120-150.
  • Best for the city: Shark Skwal i3 with LED lights; check the price in your size.
  • Best modular: Shark OXO, around €300-400.
  • Best for the track: Shark Race-R Pro GP; the Aeron GP FIM is the top of the range for those who need FIM homologation.
  • The original Spartan GT is ECE 22.05; GT Pro is ECE 22.06. Prices depend on the exact reference and offer.

1. Shark Spartan GT and GT Pro: identify the generation

The original Spartan GT is ECE 22.05; the GT Pro is ECE 22.06. Do not compare them using one price or the weight of a Carbon variant. The SHARP record for the original GT awards four stars, which cannot be transferred to the Pro. Check fit, fastening, accessories and approval on the specific helmet. Our Spartan GT review explains the differences and data limitations.

2. Shark Skwal i3 — LED signalling for daily use

The i3 has LED brake lights, ECE 22.06 approval and a micrometric buckle on the Blank SP reference checked. The official white Blank SP offer was €239.99 on October 18, 2026, with only XL listed available; this is not a price covering the entire model range. Shark declares 1,570 g for the first shell size. See the sourced i3 review and iCup versus i3 comparison for fit, fastening and equipment differences.

3. Shark OXO — the best modular

  • Type: flip-back modular.
  • Price: ~€300-400.
  • Certification: ECE 22.06 (P/J).
  • Key: chin bar rotates 180°, Pinlock 70, internal sun visor.

Our opinion: it is the current modular of the brand, replacing the Evo-One 2. The flip-back mechanism works one-handed and at about 100 dB it is average on our noise scale, though the press ranks it among the quietest modulars around €400. If you want a full-face and a jet in one helmet, this is the pick. Read the OXO review for the full breakdown.

4. Shark Race-R Pro GP — the racing full-face

  • Type: racing full-face.
  • Price: around €500 in promotions; we have not confirmed the official RRP.
  • Certification: ECE 22.06.
  • Key: COVA carbon-and-aramid shell, 5 intakes, safety spoiler.

Our opinion: the racing full-face of the range below the FIM-certified Aeron GP. At 1,385 g with five intakes and a detachable safety spoiler, it is a serious track tool. For pure road use there are more comfortable and quieter options in the range. Read the Race-R Pro GP review for all the data.

5. Shark Aeron GP FIM — the top of the range

  • Type: racing full-face, FIM certified.
  • Price: €1,199.99 RRP on Shark's website; promotions from around €900.
  • Certification: ECE 22.06 + FIM Racing #2.
  • Key: carbon shell, the new FIM standard, replicas of the MotoGP riders.

Our opinion: it is the 2026 novelty of the brand: the Aeron GP is homologated for the most demanding FIM Racing #2 standard. It only makes sense if you do track days or want a racing replica; if you want racing performance without the FIM homologation, the Race-R Pro GP gives you most of the experience for less money.

6. Shark D-Skwal 3 — the best value for money

  • Type: entry full-face.
  • Price: ~€120-150.
  • Certification: ECE 22.06.
  • Key: the cheapest way into the brand without giving up ECE 22.06.

Our opinion: if the budget rules, the D-Skwal 3 is the minimum to enter Shark with the current homologation. It does not have the LEDs of the Skwal i3 nor the carbon of the GT Pro, but it delivers the safety essentials for very little money.

MGE verdict

For daily sport-touring use, try the Spartan GT Pro if ECE 22.06 is a requirement; assess the original GT separately. If the budget rules, the D-Skwal 3 gives you the ECE 22.06 essentials for very little. The Aeron GP FIM, being spectacular, is a luxury you only pay off on the track.
